Prince William reveals ‘crucial motto of being a parent’ to George, Charlotte and Louis

Prince William has shared an invaluable piece of advice that he and his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, follow in raising their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. During a community football visit, William expressed his gratitude for receiving a football as a gift for his children at an event hosted by the NFL Foundation UK in London.

Speaking at Kennington Park hockey pitch, the 42-year-old prince said, “Oh, that’s very kind. Never go home empty-handed! That’s a crucial motto of being a parent.” He added, “They will love that. We’re going to do some practice together, let’s see how many windows I can smash.”

The event shed light on the foundation’s efforts to introduce American football to disadvantaged young people aged 12 to 20, promoting inclusivity and accessibility to the sport. Prince William commended the participation of young girls and women in the game, expressing his delight at seeing more females involved.

William actively engaged in a non-contact version of the sport, taking on the role of a quarterback and displaying his impressive arm strength. Despite his modest assessment of his sporting abilities, feedback from Phoebe Schecter, the GB women’s flag football captain, praised his skills, highlighting his remarkable arm strength and tactical decision-making prowess during the game.

The NFL Foundation UK is celebrating its third anniversary, with a growing interest in American football across the UK. The NFL’s official flag programme has been embraced by 650 British schools, involving 60,000 boys and girls in the game.

Prince William’s involvement in promoting sports and engaging with young people reflects his commitment to community initiatives and youth development. His encounter at the football event showcases his dedication to inspiring and empowering the next generation through sports involvement and mentorship.
