Housebuilder breathes life into former West Lothian hospital site
A former hospital site in West Lothian is undergoing a transformation as housebuilders work to breathe new life into the area. Situated on the grounds of the former Bangour Hospital outside Livingston, the regeneration project is being led by a mix of developers, including Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes who are set to join the initiative in May.
The regeneration of the site is well underway, with Barratt Homes East Scotland gearing up to showcase homes at Bangour Village, West Lothian starting next month. The Ambassador Group recently finalised the sale of 14.55 acres of land to Barratt Homes for the development of 179 private residences. The first phase of properties, including three and four-bedroom homes, will be available to reserve from February 2025.
The Bangour Village Estate project is set to introduce up to 998 energy-efficient homes within 215 acres of woodland. The new community will boast excellent transport links to major cities like Edinburgh and Glasgow, along with a range of amenities such as a primary school, nursery, playing fields, a supermarket, café/restaurant, and expansive preserved woodland.
Lorraine Paterson, Sales Director at Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes East Scotland, emphasised the importance of preserving the scenic beauty and rich heritage of the Bangour site.
